Hello everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve reached the end of Term 2, and it\u2019s been a busy and rewarding time. The students have worked hard, and I\u2019m really pleased with their progress and effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wishing you all a relaxing Spring Vacation and some quality family time. I look forward to seeing everyone again in Term 3!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In English, students began developing their own travel advertising campaigns, building on their Travel Agent projects. They explored how companies promote destinations through different forms of media, including posters, TV adverts and websites. Students focused on using persuasive language, strong visuals and clear branding to attract customers. They are currently designing their own campaigns, applying their understanding of audience, purpose and marketing techniques to create engaging and realistic travel advertisements. To conclude the unit, students took part in an interactive escape room activity, using their knowledge of travel writing, planning and persuasion to solve a series of challenges in a fun and collaborative way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Science, students explored how electricity works by building and testing simple circuits. They investigated how adding more components, such as bulbs, affects brightness and learned how to identify and fix problems in a circuit. To finish the unit, students applied their learning by designing an eco-friendly village. They explained how energy is used, identified where energy might be wasted, and suggested ways to improve efficiency using ideas such as insulation and energy-saving technologies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Geography this week, students explored how the impact of natural disasters can be reduced. They researched a specific prevention method, such as earthquake-resistant buildings or flood defences, and created posters explaining how these strategies work, where they are used, and how they help protect people living in high-risk areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
