This week students prepare for and completed their English Literature assessment on Anthem for Doomed Youth, exploring how Owen presents death in war and its impact on soldiers and families. Students developed their analytical writing skills by annotating the poem, discussing language techniques, and practising the use of quotations and explanations in their essays. After completing their assessments, students reviewed and improved their work by identifying strengths and areas for development within their analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
IMYC<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
This week in Geography, students investigated how migration and trade can shape communities around the world. Using international case studies, they explored why people move, how cultures influence local areas through food, businesses, and traditions, and how different groups work together within communities. Students also considered both the positive impacts and challenges that can arise when communities change over time, helping them develop a balanced understanding of global collaboration and interdependence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Year 8<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
This week, students are learning about Line Symmetry & Reflection<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They are practising how to identify lines of symmetry and reflect shapes across horizontal, vertical, and diagonal mirror lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Reflect shapes not touching the mirror line
