Hello everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few important notices for the coming weeks. Next Friday, end-of-year reports will be sent home. Please make a parent-teacher conference appointment if you would like to discuss your child’s report or any aspect of their learning this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, Ms Yuli has organised another exhibition of the children’s work. As a class, we are scheduled to visit the exhibition between 12:00 and 12:30. If you would like to be shown around by your child, please join us at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students were excellent during Sports Day, showing great teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship throughout the day. They were helpful, supporting me in organising the event and supporting one another, and encouraged their classmates to do their best, helping to make the day enjoyable for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some highlights from this week’s learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week, students have been preparing for and completing their narrative writing assessment. They spent time developing and refining their story ideas through detailed planning, focusing on characters, settings, plot structure, and effective language choices. Students then used their plans to write and type their own short stories, demonstrating their understanding of narrative techniques, creativity, and writing skills developed throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Science, students learned about photosynthesis and how plants use sunlight, water and carbon dioxide to make food. They explored how plant structures support this process and discussed why photosynthesis is important for plant growth, food production and feeding a growing global population. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In History, students explored the leadership qualities that helped Adolf Hitler gain support in Germany during the 1920s and 1930s. Through the analysis of speeches, photographs, and campaign materials, students examined how charisma, communication skills, and strong messaging enabled Hitler to influence large numbers of people. They considered the relationship between effective leadership and the political and economic problems facing Germany at the time, evaluating why many citizens chose to support him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Geography, students investigated how climate change affects different countries around the world. They researched a country experiencing issues such as flooding, drought, wildfires or rising sea levels and added their findings to a collaborative world map. Students then explored how campaign groups use evidence and real-life examples to influence people and encourage action on global issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
