IPC \u2013 The Stories People Tell<\/em><\/strong>
The children are really enjoying our new unit. This week we:<\/p>\n\n\n\n- \n
- Explored myths and legends<\/strong>, including stories from Ancient Greece<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Created our own simple legends as a class (This was very funny!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Designed beautiful Greek-style vase patterns<\/strong> on paper, inspired by traditional greek pottery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Literacy<\/strong>
We continued reading The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n- \n
- We focused on a scene from the story and described what we could see, hear, and feel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- We explored the owl’s emotions<\/b>, creating a timeline to help us retell the story.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Year 2<\/strong> practised using adjectives in a list<\/strong>, adverbs<\/strong>, and adding more detail to their writing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Year 1<\/strong> worked on writing simple sentences<\/strong> using and<\/em>, as well as using plural endings<\/strong> (adding s<\/em> and es<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Kindness Carnival \u2013 Friday 21st November<\/strong>
Please continue to practise the children\u2019s song lines and presentation parts<\/strong> at home. We are preparing a small workshop for you, where the children will demonstrate how we use our wellbeing backpacks<\/strong> in class. It would be wonderful for each child to have a parent or family member on Friday so they can teach you.<\/p>\n\n\n\nDress code:<\/strong> a colourful plain t-shirt<\/strong> with dark trousers\/jeans<\/strong>.
