UHIS Newsletter – T2W11

Happy Holidays!

As we head into the holidays, I’d like to wish everyone in our community a restful and enjoyable break.

With Easter and Eid taking place and the cherry blossoms ready to bloom, it’s a nice moment in the year to pause and recharge. I hope you’re able to spend some quality time with family and friends over the coming days.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in Term 3!

Farewell to Ms. Ann | Welcome back, Ms. Jiyu!

Today was the final day at UHIS for Ms. Ann. We would like to thank her for her contribution to the school. We are grateful for her support and commitment during her time with us, and we wish her every success in her next steps.

At the same time, we are pleased to share that Ms Jiyu will be returning after the holidays as a Learning Assistant. We look forward to welcoming her back to the team and know she will continue to be a positive support for our students and staff.

After-School Activities in Term 3

Today is the last day to sign up for After-School Activities in Term 3

After-School Activities – Term 3 2025/26

After-School Activities start in Term 3 – Week 2

Handwriting Club

We’re excited to introduce a new Handwriting Club on Thursdays with Mrs Sasi, open to students in Ms Temple’s class and below. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to build confidence and develop neat, beautiful handwriting through fun, guided lessons and regular practice.

The cost is 10,000 won per week, and you can now sign up via this form – After-School Activities – Term 3 2025/26.

International Day

International Day is planned for Friday 8th May and we’re inviting every family to be part of it!

This is a special chance for students to proudly share their culture, creativity, and experiences with our community.

Students can create a display, video, or presentation at home, and families are warmly encouraged to get involved too.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Food samples can be small—there’s no need to prepare large amounts
  • Creativity is highly encouraged!
  • We will do our best to accommodate all ideas and ways students wish to celebrate
  • Students can choose any country they feel a connection to

Once we have reviewed responses, we will decide the best way to organise the day and share further details with you.

Every contribution helps make the day richer, more exciting, and truly representative of our diverse community.

Please take a moment to sign up on the form. We’d love to see as many families involved as possible!

CIS Community Voices Survey

Now Available in Korean!

Further to last week’s message, we would like to remind all members of our community that the CIS Community Voices Survey remains open. The more responses we receive, the better the Council of International Schools (CIS) can understand our school and our community.

The survey is now also available in Korean: CIS 커뮤니티 의견 수렴 설문조사

As part of our preparation for the next stage of our Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation, we are gathering reflections from members of our school community about their experiences.

The Council of International Schools is a global organisation that supports international schools in promoting high standards of education, student well-being, and continuous school improvement. Our school has been accredited by CIS since 2011, and this process helps us reflect on our practice, recognise our strengths, and identify areas for further development.

This short survey invites you to share your perspective on what makes our school unique and how our guiding principles are experienced in everyday school life. Your responses will help us better understand how our mission, values, and culture are experienced across our community.

All responses are confidential and will be reviewed in summary form only. Individual responses will not be attributed to specific individuals.

Parents will also have opportunities to engage directly with the accreditation process. Parent representatives will be invited to meet with the CIS visiting team during their visit in May this year, and again during the full evaluation visit planned for May 2027.

The survey should take approximately 3–5 minutes to complete.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective and support the continued development of our school.
