Our Year 7–9 students began their new topic, Carnival, by exploring its meaning and learning about Carnival celebrations around the world.
Students researched Carnival in a country of their choice, using a range of guiding questions to discover its traditions, cultural significance, costumes, and celebrations. They organised their findings and created their own presentation slides to share their learning.
Students who completed their research early moved on to designing their own Carnival mask. They explored ideas for how to decorate their masks and considered different materials they could use.
Next week, students will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of materials and create their own unique Carnival masks, bringing their designs to life through creativity and personal expression.
