Autumn at UHIS

Autumn has brought a real sense of energy to UHIS. As the weather cools, our students continue to learn, create and take part in the experiences that make school life so rewarding. Thank you to our families for your continued encouragement and support as we enjoy this special time of year together.

Upcoming Class Trips

We are looking forward to several class trips in the coming weeks. Please check your class update for further details and sign-up information.

Tuesday 20 October: Miss Staines’s class visit to Ulsan Petroglyphs Museum.
Thursday 22 October: Ms Temple’s class visit to Gyeongju Gyochon Traditional Village.
Thursday 22 October: Ms Murray’s class visit to Ulsan Petroglyph Museum.
Friday 6 November: Mr Browning’s class visit to Ulsan Science Museum.

SKAIS Middle School Football 7s

We are pleased that we now have enough boys to form a team for the SKAIS Middle School Football 7s on Thursday 19 November 2026. This event is confirmed. Students taking part will need to send 30,000 won to cover transport. Further details will follow.

Halloween at UHIS

Halloween will take place on Friday 23 October from 2pm. Students may come to school in costume or change at lunchtime, and will enjoy a trick-or-treat format around the school. Families are warmly invited to join the fun.

We would welcome donations of sweets through the Admin Office. The PTA may also be in touch with parents interested in running a trick-or-treat station or helping to create a spooky room.

Mr Green Out of School

Mr Green will be out of school on the afternoon of Friday 23 October and will unfortunately miss the Halloween event. He will be travelling to Cambodia to lead a Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation team visit to International School of Phnom Penh.

The visit is entirely funded by the school being visited and comes at no cost to UHIS. Taking part in CIS visits is a valuable professional opportunity, providing the chance to see effective practice in international education in context, exchange ideas with colleagues and bring learning back to our own school community.

Mid-Term Break

Our mid-term break runs from Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October. School resumes on Monday 2 November.

We hope all our families enjoy a well-earned break. In line with school policy, students will not be set homework over the holiday.

PTA KakaoTalk Groups

Our PTA has created optional KakaoTalk groups for each class to help parents stay connected and support events for students. If you would like to join your class group, please use the invitation link or QR code shared by your PTA representative.

Bottle Cap Collection

We are in the final stretch, with only about 10% left before our magical ice-cream day. Thank you to everyone who has sent in caps so far. One final push: please check the recycling, kitchen drawers and those mysterious places where bottle caps like to hide. Every cap brings us one step closer to ice cream.

Christmas Gift Giving

For many years, the UHIS community has supported disadvantaged children at Ulsan Children’s Home through our Christmas Gift Giving programme, a valued school tradition. We are delighted that 11 gift promises have already been made. Thank you for the generous start. Families can still choose and reserve a requested gift.

Scholastic Book Catalogues

Students should have received a Scholastic catalogue this week. A Scholastic Book Club is an online bookshop linked to the school, offering families a convenient way to browse and order a wide range of children’s books.

Please use our school’s digital book club to place your order. All orders will be delivered to school free of charge. Please place your order online by 25 October 2026.
