School Consultative Group
The School Consultative Group will meet in Term 2 on Thursday 5 February. This group meets once per term to discuss matters related to school life, community feedback and ongoing school improvement. It provides an important forum for open dialogue between parents and school leadership, helping to strengthen communication and partnership across our community.
If any parent would like to propose an item for discussion at an upcoming School Consultative Group meeting, they are advised to contact one of our parent representatives – Mr Donnison and Mrs Park. The Admin Office can help to put parents in contact with our representatives.
Lunar New Year Celebrations
UHIS will hold a Lunar New Year celebration on Wednesday, 11 February, and we warmly invite parents to join us for this special occasion. Students will enjoy a range of activities celebrating this vibrant cultural festival and exploring traditions observed across many parts of the world. We look forward to welcoming families to share in the celebrations, and further details will be shared shortly.
New IPC/IMYC Units
Over the past few weeks, many classes have been exploring exciting science-themed IPC units. We have seen a wide range of engaging, hands-on activities taking place across the school. Soon, a new set of IPC units will begin. This time, students across different year groups will be studying light and sound at age-appropriate levels. Exploring shared themes at the same time allows us to connect learning across the school and celebrate our learning together.

CIS Accreditation
UHIS will shortly begin a new Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation cycle, with a preliminary engagement scheduled for May. The school is currently fully accredited, and this next phase forms part of our ongoing commitment to continuous school improvement.
CIS accreditation is an internationally recognised process that supports schools in reviewing and strengthening key areas such as teaching and learning, student well-being, safeguarding, leadership and governance. Rather than a one-time inspection, accreditation is a cyclical process focused on reflection, evidence and growth over time. As we move into this next cycle, UHIS looks forward to engaging staff, students and parents in meaningful ways that support the continued development of our school.

Ulsan Hyundai International School
During the winter holiday, we completed the final steps in the process of officially becoming Ulsan Hyundai International School. While our name has changed, our identity, values, and commitment to providing a high-quality international education remain firmly the same. This milestone reflects our school’s proud history, strong connection to the Hyundai community, and our continued focus on serving students and families in Ulsan with an internationally minded outlook.
Further information regarding the name change process is available on our website.
