Public Holiday – Friday 1st May
UHIS will now be closed on Friday 1st May.
As Friday, 1st May, Labour Day, has been newly declared a special public holiday by the government and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries including its transportation department will be closed, we are unable to open the school on that day.
We apologize for the late notice.
Please note that UHIS will remain open on Wednesday, June 3rd, despite it being a public holiday for the local elections. School will operate as normal.
Residential Trip
Please be reminded that the deadline for signing up for the residential trip is Friday, May 1st, and following this date, specific instructions regarding payment will be sent directly to those who have signed up. If you have any further questions, please contact the Admin Office and we will be happy to assist.
School Consultative Group Meeting
Our next School Consultative Group Meeting will take place on Tuesday 28h April. This group plays an important role in supporting communication between the school and our wider community, ensuring that different perspectives are heard and considered.
Parents are encouraged to share any suggested agenda items with their parent representatives in advance of the meeting. Following the meeting, a summary and minutes will be shared with the community.
New Parking Lot and Back Gate
The new parking lot and back gate are designated for staff use only. Parents and students should continue to use the main entrance, and school buses will use the existing front parking area.
This approach ensures the following:
- Clear and organised traffic flow
- Dedicated parking for staff to support smooth daily operations
- Strong site security through regulated access to the back gate, as opening the back gate for wider use would create monitoring challenges.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and well-organised campus.

Digital Literacy – Carpool Conversations
To support our ongoing work around digital literacy and online safety, we are sharing a set of short, family-friendly podcast resources.
Common Sense Carpool Conversations is a podcast series developed by Common Sense Media, a leading organisation that provides guidance and resources to help schools and families support children in navigating the digital world safely and responsibly. Their materials are closely aligned with our approach to digital literacy and wellbeing at UHIS.
The podcasts are designed to prompt meaningful discussions between adults and children. Using simple, game-style prompts such as “Never have I ever…” and “Who’s most likely to…”, these short activities make it easy for families to explore important topics together.
They can be used at home, in the car, or as part of everyday routines.
