This week, our Year 1–2 students continued exploring All About Me through a range of fun and creative activities.
The students used clay to create their own faces, exploring different shapes and features to represent themselves. We also read Anthony Browne’s My Mum and My Dad, which gave us an opportunity to talk about our families and the people who are special to us.
We then explored “My House” and learned the different parts and features of a house, including the roof, chimney, windows, door, doorbell, and stairs. After practising drawing and identifying these elements, the students began creating their own house designs on foam board.
It has been a lovely week of stories, discussion, drawing, and hands-on making, and it was wonderful to see the children enjoying themselves and confidently expressing their ideas through art!
