This week, our Year 5–6 students continued exploring the IPC topic Being Human through art, building on their understanding of the human figure.
Students looked at photographs of people in a variety of natural and dynamic poses and practised capturing the movement and position of the body through drawing. Rather than focusing only on accurate proportions, they paid close attention to how the body bends, moves, and changes depending on the pose.
Through this activity, students developed their observation and drawing skills while learning how to communicate movement and action in their artwork. It was wonderful to see them experimenting with different poses and applying what they learned about the human figure in a new way.
