Public Holiday – Friday 1st May

UHIS will now be closed on Friday 1st May.

As Friday, 1st MayLabour Day, has been newly declared a special public holiday by the government and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries including its transportation department will be closed, we are unable to open the school on this day.

We apologize for the late notice.

Please note that UHIS will remain open on Wednesday, June 3rd, despite it being a public holiday for the local elections. School will operate as normal.

Residential Trip

Following our previous announcement regarding the upcoming Residential Trip, we would like to provide an updated notice. Please review the final registration deadline and the newly released payment details below.

  • Final Amount: 275,000 KRW (reduced due to more students signing-up)
  • Payment Due Date: Friday, May 8th
  • Please ensure the transfer is made under the Student’s Name or Parent’s Name for easy verification.

School Consultative Group Meeting

Thank you to all members who attended the School Consultative Group Meeting on Tuesday 28th April.

The meeting included updates on several positive developments across the school, including new partnerships with CRESTAR and Ulsan College, strong engagement with the upcoming residential trip, and the successful completion of recruitment for the 2026/27 academic year.

An update was also shared on the CIS accreditation process, with the school’s portfolio now submitted and the next stages, including a preliminary visit in Week 7, approaching.

Discussion also covered future planning, including the publication of the UHIS Strategic Plan, upcoming parent surveys on extracurricular activities, and continued efforts to enhance school events and opportunities for students.

Finally, an overview of the proposed paid school bus service was presented, outlining its purpose and structure. Further details of the paid bus service are included below.

This group continues to play an important role in supporting communication between the school and our wider community.

Introduction of Paid Bus Service

UHIS will introduce a paid bus service starting in academic year 2026/27.

Sports Day – Thursday 21st May

We are looking forward to our upcoming Sports Day on Thursday 21st May. This is always a highlight of the term and a great opportunity for students to take part in a range of activities, demonstrate teamwork, and enjoy a day of friendly competition.

Further details will be shared closer to the date. In the meantime, please note the following:

  • Parents are encouraged to attend and support the event
  • Students will need to wear a t-shirt in the colour of their team (Students should know their team or you can ask the Admin Office)
  • Students will need a packed lunch that does not require microwaving
  • Students should bring a water bottle (additional water will be available)
  • Please consider sun protection such as hats and sunscreen; shaded areas will be provided
