MAP Growth Assessments

Students will complete their MAP Growth Assessments on Monday and Tuesday next week. These assessments help us monitor student progress and support future learning planning. Results will be shared with parents during the reporting period.

Students do not need to revise for these assessments. As this is the first time many students will have completed this type of assessment, there may naturally be some nervousness. Staff will be supporting students throughout the process and encouraging them to approach the assessments with a positive growth mindset and simply do their best.

Upcoming PSHE Lessons

As part of our Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE) curriculum, all students will soon be taking part in age-appropriate lessons focused on body awareness and relationships education. These lessons are carefully planned to reflect our curriculum expectations and to ensure that content is appropriate for each year group. Class teachers will be in contact with more detailed information about what will be covered. If you have any questions, please contact the class teacher or the Principal.

Sports Day – Thursday 21st May

We are looking forward to our upcoming Sports Day on Thursday 21st May. This is always a highlight of the term and a great opportunity for students to take part in a range of activities, demonstrate teamwork, and enjoy a day of friendly competition.

Further details will be shared closer to the date. In the meantime, please note the following:

  • Parents are encouraged to attend and support the event
  • Students will need to wear a t-shirt in the colour of their team (Students should know their team or you can ask the Admin Office)
  • Students will need a packed lunch that does not require microwaving
  • Students should bring a water bottle (additional water will be available)
  • Please consider sun protection such as hats and sunscreen; shaded areas will be provided

We look forward to an enjoyable day for all students.

Hyundai Credit Coperative Donation

UHIS would like to thank Hyundai Credit Cooperative for their generous donation of 3 million won to the school.

This donation will support the purchase of a new AED machine, additional guided reading books, and new playground equipment for students. These resources will have a positive impact across the school and help support both student wellbeing and learning experiences.

We are very grateful for the continued support of our wider community.

ABC Countdown

Our ABC Countdown will begin soon, with students taking part in a range of alphabet-themed fun activities each day as we count down towards the end of the school year.

Please see the information below for the daily themes and activities.

CIS Preliminary Engagement

In Week 7, UHIS will welcome Shane Kells to the school as part of our CIS Preliminary Engagement visit. This is the first stage in our re-accreditation process with Council of International Schools. Mr Kells is the International Accreditation Advisor from CIS responsible for guiding UHIS through the accrediation process.

UHIS has been accredited by CIS since 2011, and we value the opportunity this process provides to reflect on our practice, celebrate our strengths, and continue developing as an international school community.

During the visit, Mr Kells will meet with students, staff, leadership, and parents to learn more about the UHIS community and school experience. As part of this process, parents are invited to attend an informal parent meeting on Wednesday 20th May at 11.30am. We would like as many parents as possible to talk to Mr Kells and everyone is welcome.

Mr Kells will be in school from Monday to Wednesday, and we look forward to welcoming him to UHIS and engaging in the accreditation process together.

Yearbook Cover Competition

Students are invited to take part in the UHIS Yearbook Cover Competition.
