This week, our young artists worked on cactus-themed sketching. We explored where cactuses grow, how they develop, and how their body parts are structured through discussion.
The children observed how light affects colour and practised using pencil tones to create shading and a sense of three-dimensional form. They then used paint to apply colour, adjusting brightness to enhance depth.
Next week, we will build on this work by creating a 3D cactus project.
