Continuing our All About Me topic, the children explored the theme of pets through a series of creative art activities this week.
Using a variety of pre-cut cardboard shapes, they combined different 2D shapes to create pictures of their chosen pets. They also used colourful pipe cleaners to add details, such as tails, exploring how different materials could be used together to represent animals.
After completing their cardboard shape creations, the children extended the activity by using Play-Doh to model their chosen pets in three dimensions. This gave them the opportunity to explore the differences between flat shapes and three-dimensional forms while experimenting with different materials.
Through these activities, the children developed their creativity, shape recognition and problem-solving skills, discovering different ways to express their ideas through Art.
