Mr Dunn’s Class – Art Update T3 W5

This week, our Year 7–9 students continued developing their creativity through decorative art projects using plastic deco pieces and glass deco paints.

Students first designed images using colourful plastic deco shapes, carefully arranging and attaching the pieces to selected areas to create layered and textured compositions. They then used glass deco paints to design and create their own lantern shades, experimenting with colour, transparency, and pattern to achieve vibrant stained-glass-inspired effects.

Students who completed the lantern project moved on to exploring the concept of negative and positive space in art. After learning how artists use contrasting spaces to create balance and visual impact, students created their own artworks featuring flowers and trees, thoughtfully applying these ideas in their compositions.

It was wonderful to see students showing creativity, focus, and confidence throughout the lesson while developing both their artistic skills and personal expression.
