Mr Dunn’s Class – Art Update T3 W11

This week, students visited the exhibition hall to reflect on our school-wide art exhibition and celebrate the artwork created throughout the year. Using an art reflection worksheet, students recorded the artwork that impressed them the most, described its visual features, shared their feelings and opinions, considered the artist’s message, and reflected on what they learned from the exhibition experience.

Students also completed a small sketch section on the reflection sheet, where they drew the artwork they found most memorable. In addition, they had the opportunity to take a photograph with their favourite artwork, encouraging them to make a personal connection with the pieces that resonated with them the most.

Through this reflection activity, students experienced an important part of the artistic process beyond creating artwork. They learned how to observe, appreciate, analyse, and respond to art while developing their ability to express their thoughts through both writing and drawing. It was a valuable opportunity to understand that an art exhibition is not only about displaying artwork, but also about engaging with and reflecting on the creative work of others.
