October Gets Moving at UHIS
October is already moving at a lively pace at UHIS. This newsletter looks back on a lovely day together at Ulsan Grand Park, shares upcoming class-trip dates, and brings news of Halloween, Christmas Gift Giving, the growing Bottle Cap Collection and the latest UHIS Magazine.
There is plenty to look forward to over the coming weeks, so please take a few minutes to read the class and art updates too.
Open Day
On Tuesday, UHIS welcomed prospective families to learn more about international education in Ulsan and to see our school in action. Thank you to everyone who helped make visitors feel at home. Please continue to spread the word to families who may be interested in finding out more about UHIS.
A Day Out in the Park
Thursday 8 October was a lovely whole-school day at Ulsan Grand Park. Thank you to the parents and community members who joined us for a relaxed day of picnicking, play and time together.
It was wonderful to see students, families and staff sharing food, enjoying the park and spending time as one community. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a fun and memorable one.
We may hold another community day out in the spring.

Halloween

Friday 23 October, from 2pm
This year, students will move around school in a trick-or-treat format, visiting different stations. Students may come to school in costume or change at lunchtime, and there will be a prize for the most creative costume.
We would be very grateful for donations of sweets, which can be sent to the Admin Office. The PTA may also be in touch to find parents who would like to run a trick-or-treat station or help create a scary room.
Christmas Gift Giving
Each year, the UHIS community comes together to support the Ulsan Childcare Center through our Christmas Gift Giving tradition. It is a simple, meaningful way to share festive cheer and support children in our local community.
Choose and reserve a requested gift. Thank you for helping to make this annual tradition special.
Exciting IPC/IMYC Units
Students across UHIS have begun engaging new units in the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). These inquiry-based units invite students to ask questions, make connections across subjects and explore ideas through purposeful, hands-on learning.
Science will feature strongly in the weeks ahead, from electricity and energy, the human body and investigative science to human growth, genetics, light and sound within the IMYC Celebration unit. We are excited for students to explore these rich, thought-provoking topics, drawing on their curiosity and creativity as they learn.

Bottle Cap Collection
The bottle-cap mountain keeps growing, and we are now just 20% away from the magical ice cream day. Thank you to everyone who has sent in caps. The collection is taking on a life of its own, and our plans for the bottle-cap mosaic are getting more exciting by the day.
