This week, Year 7–9 explored one of the most important and delightful objects in any celebration: the cake! The kids discussed how cakes are used for a variety of occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas and festivals, and explored a wide range of creative cake designs.
Inspired by different celebrations, the kids designed their own unique cakes, carefully considering the occasion, their design intentions, patterns and decorative details. They were encouraged to express their individual ideas and creativity through their designs.
With a variety of materials and techniques available to explore, the kids have exciting opportunities to bring their designs to life. We look forward to seeing how their creative ideas develop into their final cake artworks next week!
